Reverse osmosis water filtration is a highly effective purification process that utilizes a semipermeable membrane to remove up to 99% of contaminants from water. This chemical-free method uses a membrane to filter out salts, minerals, bacteria, and organic compounds as water is pushed through via high pressure. These systems are very popular in residential and industrial settings because they are effective, reliable, and environmentally friendly.
Ultraviolet (UV) light water disinfection systems are designed specifically to eliminate harmful microorganisms by exposing them to UV light. In these systems, water passes through a UV-lit chamber, killing bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens. This chemical-free filtration option is a good choice for wells, ponds, and other water sources that might be susceptible to algae and bacteria growth. These systems, however, do not filter out chemicals, non-biological contaminants, or minerals.
Some areas may be affected by hard water—caused by mineral content in tap or well water. Water softener systems treat hard water by removing these minerals, such as calcium and magnesium ions. Most of these systems use ion exchange technology, exchanging calcium and magnesium ions for sodium ions within a resin tank. This effectively “softens” the water, which can be beneficial for skin, hair, plumbing, and appliances. Keep in mind that many of these systems use sodium additives to soften the water.
Your water filtration system can add value and yield benefits for years to come—but only with the right expert installer! C&C has a proven track record in water filtration installation in Lawrenceville—and beyond. Ask about our financing options!
Every area in Georgia is unique, but most have at least a few water concerns. Lawrenceville is no different—which is why it’s never a bad idea to consider a whole-home or business water filtration system.

According to the
Atlanta Journal-Constitution recently reported tap water in several Atlanta towns (including nearby Forsyth County) contains high levels of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), also known as Forever Chemicals. There are many unknowns about these contaminants, but they have been linked to cancer and impaired immunity. A reverse osmosis system can help remove PFAS from tap water.
In addition to PFAS, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) identified
22 contaminants in Lawrenceville water, ten exceeding EWG health guidelines. Several contaminants with the highest presence are linked to increased cancer risk.

Georgia water management authorities have disclosed to the EPA test results that reveal the presence of PFAS (“forever chemicals”) in the tap water in several Georgia counties. Not all results have been announced, but there is cause for concern in several counties with elevated levels. The EPA describes PFAS as “widely used, long-lasting chemicals, components of which break down very slowly over time” and asserts that exposure to PFAS may have harmful effects. In fact, the extent of these risks—and what levels of PFAS are concerning—is not fully known.
Some of the initial research shows that PFAS may affect development, cause a decreased vaccine response in children, and result in an increased risk of several types of cancer. Currently, there are no official guidelines from the EPA on PFAS in drinking water.
It’s not all bad news: Reverse osmosis has shown great promise in removing potentially harmful PFAS from water. Contact us today to learn more.
According to the Environmental Working Group (EWG), there are 22 types of contaminants, 10 of which exceed EWG health guidelines. This doesn’t mean these contaminants surpass legal levels—EWG points out that “legal does not necessarily equal safe.” This underscores the importance of a high-quality water filtration system.
The water contaminants found to be most concerning by the EWG (all of which potentially increase cancer risk) are:
